Armagh showed all of their battling quality to humble Mickey Harte's Tyrone in Omagh yesterday, capitalising on the first half sending off of Mattie Donnelly.

Roscommon ran Mayo close in Connacht and showed some impressive form in dismantling Cavan at Breffni Park on Saturday evening by 11 points.

Clare scored a facile 16-point win over minnows Carlow at Dr Cullen Park yesterday but will have a much stiffer challenge from Leinster opposition when Kildare travel to Ennis next weekend.

Kildare struck 1-6 without reply late on against Down yesterday in Newry to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Meath in their Leinster semi-final.
