Rockorry finished with 13 players following red cards for Anthony Carroll, on 15 minutes, and Fergal McGeough, five minutes into second half; the Monaghan side also lost goalkeeper Jamie Smith to a black card after just seven minutes,

Mayo champions Ardnaree also lost two of their best forwards, Ronan Doherty and Eoin McCormack, to black cards.

Substitutes Shane Timlin and Brian Fitzpatrick both hit the target when introduced in the second half to close out a game that will be remembered mostly for a lot of interruptions in play and too many off-the-ball incidents.
