St Brigid's produced a superb defensive display in accounting for St Oliver Plunkett/Eoghan Ruadh at Parnell Park on Saturday.
In a desperately poor opening half, Gareth Smith and Ken Darcy exchanged frees before Darcy took full advantage of a slip by Plunketts goalkeeper Eoin Sommerville to lob home an excellent goal in the 14th minute.
Points from Bernard Brogan and a Smith free narrowed the gap to the minimum but a fine Cian Mullins point put the underdogs 1-2 to 0-3 up at the break.
After Darcy and Brogan had traded scores on the restart, Paddy Andrews took control of proceedings, kicking two sumptuous points and further frees by Darcy and Mark Cahill followed as Brigid's opened up the Plunketts rearguard with ease.
In contrast, their opponents were laboured throughout and although Alan Brogan kicked a consolation score entering injury-time, a late Andrews free confirmed St Brigid's final berth.
