And the winners are ... GAA and GPA announce nominees

THE GAA and GPA have announced the nominees for their 2011 GAA GPA All-Star Players and Young Players of the Year Awards.

Kilkenny's Michael Fennelly and Tommy Walsh and Pádraic Maher of Tipperary are up for the Hurler of the Year award, while Dublin's Alan Brogan and Stephen Cluxton along with Kerry's Darran O'Sullivan make up the shortlist for Footballer of the Year.



The overall winners will be announced at the All-Star banquet at Convention Centre Dublin on Friday 21 October.



The All-Star football and hurling teams will be presented with their awards on the evening and the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year Awards in both football and hurling will also be announced on the night.
