Andrew Fox and midfielder Callum Pearson raised green flags during the opening period of play, but even though Tom Keane and Tom Fox contributed a combined tally of 0-3 in the first half, impressive scores by Daniel Heavin and David Fleming ensured that Moate were just three points in arrears (2-3 to 0-6) at the interval.

This left the tie in the balance when the action resumed, but in addition to a well-worked Tom Fox point from a tight angle, Joseph Rafferty's 1-1 salvo helped the south Dublin side to open up an eight-point gap heading into the final-quarter.

The hard-working Moate outfit did add points through Joe Lowry (two), Fleming, Sean Farrell and substitute Sean Pettit in the latter stages of the action, but further goals by Dan O'Brien and Patrick Flaherty secured a comprehensive triumph for Benildus.
