Cryotherapy hope for 'Bonner' injury
Patrick 'Bonner' Maher has undergone sub-zero cryotherapy treatment in a bid to be fit for Tipperary's Munster senior hurling quarter-final against Cork on Sunday week.
The All-Star centre-forward suffered a hamstring strain on club duty with Lorrha-Dorrha last weekend and is a doubt for the Thurles clash.
But sources close to the player have indicated that he's optimistic about his chances of lining out against the Rebels at Semple Stadium.
Maher is being treated by team physiotherapist and 2001 All-Ireland winner Paddy O'Brien, and he's also visited Shannon Cryotherapy in Ennis this week, in a bid to speed up the healing process.
Maher recently returned from a six-month army peace-keeping role in the Golan Heights, located in south-western Syria.
