Wexford's hurlers have been dealt a hammer blow with the news that influential midfielder Lee Chin will miss next Saturday's Leinster SHC quarter-final with Dublin through injury.
Chin would have been expected to lead the Model charge but medial ligament damage in his knee, picked up in a challenge match against Cork on Tuesday, will see him sidelined for up to four weeks.
Ian Byrne (calf) and Aidan Nolan (knee) have also added to Liam Dunne's injury woes which already see Wexford head into the Croke Park clash minus long-term casualties Andrew Shore, Shaun Murphy and David Redmond.
Elsewhere, Colin Kelly's Louth side to face Carlow in today's Leinster SFC opener includes debutants Kevin Toner and Darren McMahon while Bevan Duffy returns to play his first game since last summer's Qualifier defeat to Tipperary.
Wicklow play Laois in the second part of the O'Moore Park double-header with Marc Lennon the only championship newcomer for Johnny Magee's side as Ross O'Brien (injury) and Anto McLoughlin (sickness) both miss out.
