THERE is already much speculation about who will bring Sky Sports' coverage of the national game to living rooms around the country.

A spokesperson for Sky last night said he could not comment on who the station's new presenters, commentators or pundits would be, insisting it would be up to the station's production staff to determine

Frontrunner for the new presenting role is Sky Sport's News presenter and Irish Independent columnist Rachel Wyse.

Bookmaker Paddy Power last night installed former Dublin legend Kevin Moran and recently retired Paul Galvin as favourites to land a football analyst role at 6/5. Others in contention include Anthony Tohill, Ciaran Whelan, Padraig Joyce, Graham Canty, Tomas O Se and Graham Geraghty.

Hull City striker Shane Long, a minor hurler with his native Tipperary, is joint favourite to get a pundit's role for hurling at 6/4, alongside Nicky English.

Other names in the fray include Dan Shanahan, John Mullane, Diarmuid O'Sullivan, Donal Og Cusack and Kilkenny's DJ Carey.
