Westmeath and Cavan are still searching for their first league victory after this disappointing game ended level in Cusack Park yesterday.

Two points in the final five minutes by substitute Gearoid McKiernan enabled Cavan to come away with a draw, after Westmeath looked set for their first league victory in 16 attempts.

The first half ended level, 0-5 to 1-2, after Cavan scored a fortuitous Seanie Johnston goal. Dessie Dolan chipped in with four points for Westmeath.
