Aherlow blitz

DECLAN BROWNE'S Moyle Rovers had no answer to Aherlow's four-goal blitz in this Tipperary SFC quarter-final at Cahir which Aherlow won by 4-6 to 1-10. Aherlow's whirlwind start produced goals from David Cleary and Conor O'Shea within two minutes of the throw-in.

Rovers responded with points from Browne (2) John Owens, James Williams and Robbie Boland, leaving it 2-2 to 0-5 at half-time. Aherlow took a commanding lead with goals from Shaunie Peters and Cleary within eight minutes of the restart.

A MORE motivated Ballyheigue were full value for their 1-12 to 1-6 victory over Kilmoyley in the Kerry SHL final replay in Tralee.

With Michael Lucid in superb form, the winners led by 1-6 to 0-6 at half-time. Though Billy Brick raised the green flag for Kilmoyley early in the second half, they failed to score again and improvement is needed before they face Blackrock in the Munster club SHC.
