James Horan seems to be a bit miffed by suggestions that this year's Connacht football championship was sub-standard.
Invited to comment after Mayo clinched the treble last Sunday, he suggested that since he might be biased, it would be better to ask Armagh (who lost to Galway in the qualifiers) and Tyrone (who were run to two points by Roscommon).
Fair play to Horan (left) for standing up for his province, but it still doesn't alter the fact that Mayo won the title by a combined margin of 45 points over three games. Could it be that Connacht wasn't too bad after all but that Mayo are something special? Time will tell.
