Super Quinn display not enough for Abbey

Holders St Patrick's came out on top of a gripping quarter-final with Abbey CBS at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh on Saturday.

The Dungannon side led 2-8 to 1-6 at the break, and while Abbey substitute Patrick Quinn got eight points, Gervin and Conor McAliskey tagged on points for Dungannon to keep their noses in front before a goal from the latter sealed victory.

St Macartan's 1-4

St Mary's, Magherafelt booked their place in the semis when they defeated St Macartan's, Monaghan, on Saturday morning.

The margin of victory was more comfortable than the final scoreline might suggest with a David McGuckin goal ending the game as a contest before Gareth McQuaid got a late consolation goal for Macartan's.

Omagh CBS 0-15

Eight Ronan O'Neill points carried Omagh CBS through to the final four at Derrytresk yesterday.

The Tyrone students never looked like losing, even when Maghera narrowed the gap to a point 10 minutes into the second half. John McCullagh, O'Neill and Conan Grugan all fired over quality points as Omagh sped out of sight with a blistering late salvo.
