Sheehan gets Sceilge going

Three first-half goals paved the way for Coláiste na Sceilge to avenge their defeat in last year's final.

In a cracking contest at Rathmore, Aisling O'Sullivan, Sinead Dillon and midfielder Sinead Sheehan struck the goals that proved decisive.

The opening period was one-way traffic in the extreme as Sceilge blitzed their opponents, with Sheehan pouncing for a goal after three minutes before the inside duo of Aisling O'Sullivan and Dillon added one apiece before the break.

Sinead Walshe pulled a goal back for Loreto from a penalty on 42 minutes to offer the Cork girls hope but with Paula and Bronagh O'Sullivan outstanding in defence, the 2005 champions managed to hold on and claim the spoils.
