CITY side St Finbarr's are into their second consecutive county final after they produced a late scoring burst to see off Carbery Rangers at Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday night.

While an early goal from Cathal McCarthy gave the Barrs a cushion for the first half and early stages of the second period, the west Cork club managed to pull level at 0-7 to 1-4 when Kevin MacMahon pointed in the 40th minute.

But from there to the end, Rangers were outscored 0-7 to 0-1 as Jason Sexton converted a number of frees for St Finbarr's and Colin O'Sullivan also chipped in with two points.

For much of the game, Rangers' shooting let them down, as they had 12 wides in all and it meant they trailed by 1-3 to 0-4 at half-time. The goal from McCarthy in the sixth minute was well taken, as he won an Eoin Keane delivery before slotting home to open up a 1-0 to 0-1 lead.

At the start of the second half, Rangers looked to have found some momentum, with points from John and Seamus Hayes cutting the gap before MacMahon's equaliser looked to have set up an interesting final quarter. But the Barrs found another gear and now meet city rivals Nemo Rangers in the decider as they go in search of a first county title since 1985.
