Saturday refixture
Tuesday November 24 2009
IT IS back to Portlaoise again for the AIB Leinster club SFC semi-final between the local footballers and Offaly champions Clara next Saturday (2.15).
However, the need to reschedule their match, which had to be abandoned just after half-time last Sunday because of torrential weather conditions, means a change of venue for the province's club hurling final, which spells good news for Offaly hurling champions Tullamore.
They were scheduled to meet defending champions Ballyhale Shamrocks in Portlaoise on Sunday but that game has now been moved to O'Connor Park, Tullamore, on Sunday (2.15).
Entry to Saturday's refixed football game will be free to all, and both clubs have been asked to wear their county colours this time because their jerseys are so similar.
Meanwhile, Connacht council are confident that their provincial club SFC semi-final between Charlestown and Corofin, which was postponed last weekend, will be able to go ahead at Charlestown this Sunday.
"There is a very good surface there, the weather has dried up already and it should be alright," secretary John Prenty said.
