DLS Macroom had too much for a spirited Killorglin side missing the influence of the injured Liam Carey.

Barry O'Leary opened the scoring in Rathmore with a point for Macroom, but two frees from Tommy Cahill put IS Killorglin's noses in front.

Peter Kelliher levelled matters in the fifth minute with a close-in free and once Joseph Ryan put the Cork side ahead a few minutes later, they never looked back.

Ryan put over a free to open the gap to two and then Kelliher fisted a point to make it 0-5 to 0-2.

However, in the 23rd minute Macroom pounced on a poor ISK kick-out and Barry O'Leary was fouled inside the square. Joseph Ryan made no mistake from the spot-kick as Macroom led 1-6 to 0-2 at the interval.

Killorglin needed a good start to the second half, but it was Macroom who got the opening three scores from James Moynihan, a '45' from Peter Kelliher and Cian Healy free. It was too big a mountain for Killorglin and, although Tommy Cahill scored a consolation goal, Macroom advanced with ease to the semi-finals despite a Joe Ryan black card
