A Goal by Limerick wing-back John Riordan eight minutes from time proved decisive in a game of contrasting halves at Pairc Sean Mhic Diarmada, Carrick-on-Shannon yesterday.
Both sides exchanged points early on. Leitrim's Adrian Croal opened the scoring after five minutes and when Limerick's Ian Ryan pointed in the 11th minute, the sides were tied at 0-3 each at the interval.
Limerick went ahead with two Eoghan O'Connor points without reply after the break and when Riordan finished a fine Treaty move to the net eight minutes from time to lead by six points, it was effectively game over.
