Rematch of 1991 All-Ireland to boost Trust

Published 31/10/2013 | 01:00

A rematch of the 1991 All-Ireland football final between Down and Meath will take place in Pairc Esler, Newry on Saturday night in aid of the Kevin Bell Repatriation Fund.

Featuring many of the stars of that final 22 years ago and other guests, the match will support a trust which is aimed at alleviating the financial hardship of bereaved families repatriating the bodies of loved ones who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances.

Kevin Bell died tragically in New York in June. The response to fundraising to repatriate him was overwhelming and since then the family have established the trust to help others.

The match throws in at 7.0.
