O'Sullivan sinks Tipp

EAMONN Fitzmaurice kickstarted a busy weekend by collecting his first piece of silverware as Kerry senior football manager yesterday.



Darran O'Sullivan scored 1-3 as the Kingdom won the McGrath Cup for the third time in four seasons.

O'Sullivan's first-half goal helped Kerry to lead by 1-7 to 0-2 at half-time in front of 839 spectators at Seán Treacy Park in Tipperary town.

Barry Grogan netted a second-half consolation goal for Tipp direct from a '45' but Kerry were comfortable throughout.

And Fitzmaurice will now pull on his playing gear to assist his club Finuge in this afternoon's All-Ireland Club Intermediate semi-final against Monasterevin.
