O'Rourke, Mangan swing it for Wicklow

Wicklow 2-13 Wexford 1-9

Two goals by corner-forward Shane O'Rourke and Michael Mangan underpinned Wicklow's seven-point win over neighbours Wexford at Aughrim on Saturday.

Just before the end of the third quarter Paul Bealin's son Jonathan drilled home a terrific goal for Wexford to cut the margin to a single point, 1-6 to 0-10.

However, Wicklow's response was swift and decisive, O'Rourke blasting to the net from the edge of the small square. Mangan then drilled a long ball into the goalmouth and Wexford's keeper Cormac O'Brien was judged to have stepped back over his own line when fielding the ball.

Wicklow were reduced to 14 men near the finish when wing-back Martin O'Brien picked up a second yellow, but they cruised home.
