O'Driscoll's superb extra-time goal sets up Galway encounter for UCC
Sub Barry O'Driscoll hit a superb goal to clinch victory for UCC at the Mardyke.
O'Driscoll struck after a fine solo run on 75 minutes to put his team 1-9 to 0-7 ahead, while another sub Daithi Casey converted a late free to seal a second-round clash with NUI Galway next Wednesday.
The Cork lads will, however, have to improve on this showing -- they shot 20 wides -- if they are to make further progress.
The teams were locked together at 0-3 apiece at the interval. In the second half, UCC forged ahead, but DIT battled back and Martin Reilly's equaliser brought the game into extra-time.
