O Maoileannaigh on fire for red-hot Eoin

COLÁISTE EOIN took full advantage of perfect conditions to claim the honours with a near flawless display at Belfield yesterday.

Local rivals St Benildus gave their all as they tried to stop their opponents, but this is a talented Coláiste Eoin side with bundles of power, pace and a brilliant attitude and they never gave their Stillorgan neighbours a sniff.

Lorcan Ó Maoileannaigh struck for the first of his three goals after seven minutes and his brilliant finish gave Benildus a taste of what was to come.

Points from Oisin Ó Ruairc, Daithí Ó Cathmhaoil and Fionnán Motherway kept the scoreline going before Ó Ruairc scrambled home a late goal to give his side a 2-5 to 0-2 lead at the break.

Benildus had worked hard to keep the score down, but they couldn't maintain their efforts and the clinical Coláiste Eoin forwards punished them.

Ó Ruairc pointed, Motherway sent three frees over and Ó Maoileannaigh struck for his hat-trick to completely kill off the game.
