A storming finish saw 14-man Waterford round off their campaign with a win at Dr Cullen Park.
Niall Carew's side were down to 14 men after 30 minutes when Shane Aherne received a second yellow. But the hosts could only muster a single point from play in the half as they led 0-5 to 0-4 at the break.
It was point for point for much of the second half – after 55 minutes the sides were tied at 0-8 each. But in the closing stages the pace of Waterford's Liam O Lionain provided major problems.
Carlow simply folded as Waterford hit a succession of points. Deise manager Carew was very pleased to have finished the campaign with a win. Carlow counterpart Anthony Rainbow said his focus was now on the Leinster SFC clash with Westmeath on May 19.
