Murphy works his magic for Donegal
A wonder goal from Michael Murphy in the second half saw Donegal win this Ulster derby in style last night in Celtic Park.
Derry had a whirlwind start with a goal from Caolan O'Boyle, who was a late replacement for Paddy Bradley, after just a minute.
Donegal fought their way back into a very high-class contest and a goal from Colm McFadden put them in front for the first time as half-time approached and they led by 1-11 to 1-9 at the break.
Derry got back on level terms midway through the second half when Caolan O'Boyle fired home a penalty, but then came the Murphy goal and Donegal were on their way. Derry lost Kevin McCloy to a second yellow card and Donegal were able to pull clear in the final minutes to go to the top of the Division Two table.
