Murphy penalises Fingal
A penalty in the sixth minute of injury-time gave Louth a dramatic win over Fingal in Darver to put them through to the final.
Diarmuid Murphy was pushed, and he converted the penalty himself to cap a remarkable comeback. Helped by a couple of soft goals, Fingal looked to be on their way to the decider when they led by 3-8 to 0-7 at half-time, the goals coming from Paul McAlister, Colm Foley and Ross McGarry.
Louth made the better start to the second half, but the visitors were still in front by 3-10 to 0-10 with a little over 20 minutes remaining.
Louth then registered 1-6 without reply to draw level by the 69th minute. A disputed Fingal point put them back ahead, and when the north county Dublin outfit added another, they looked home.
But there was still one last twist, provided by Murphy, to allow Louth scramble to victory.
