Aidan Moynihan's late goal from a penalty means that Cork and Kerry must meet again after 80 minutes of football could not separate them in their Munster MFC quarter-final at Páirc Uí Rinn.
After late points from Matthew Flaherty and Conor Keane rescued the game for Kerry, as they tied the game at 1-10 each to force extra-time, the visitors pushed on and a Keane goal helped them to open up a five-point lead in the additional period.
They still led by 2-13 to 1-13 as the final whsitle approached. Then, Moynihan hit the post for Cork, before they won a penalty in injury-time after a footblock. Though Kerry goalkeeper Shane Ryan got a touch on Moynihan's penalty, the ball still trickled over the line, with Moynihan rushing in to make sure it entered the net.
It was Cork's second penalty, Ryan having saved from Ryan Harkin in the first half, at the end of which Cork led by 1-4 to 1-2, Michael Cahalane's goal having cancelled out Killian Spillane's effort for Kerry. The Kingdom came more into the game in the second half, Keane impressing, but points from Cahalane saw Cork push clear. Ultimately they could not finish the job, though, and needed Moynihan's late intervention.
