McNamee on song as Offaly cruise past Westmeath

OFFALY took the local bragging rights as they advanced to the semi-final with a comprehensive victory over Westmeath in Tullamore.

Offaly led 1-5 to 0-0 after 10 minutes with Jack Walsh scoring their opening goal.

Adam Mahon managed two fine scores as the Offaly men ran up a 1-12 to 0-5 half-time lead.

The second half was another power show from the home side. Ruairi McNamee found the net to put to bed any chance of a Westmeath revival. Fergal Hynes pulled a goal back for Westmeath which brought them back to 2-13 to 1-7 but Offaly closed out the game, tagging on some neat scores.
