A first-half goal from Daniel McMahon was the key score as Emyvale regained their crown in a poor final.

The Monaghan side, who won this title in 2009, needed a couple of smart blocks from goalkeeper Gerard McCaffrey to get past Tyrone champions Killeeshil.

"When you lift a cup it doesn't matter what level it's at, it still has the hair standing up on the back of your neck," said Emyvale manager Declan Brennan.

Emyvale got going in the second quarter, with McMahon flicking the ball into the net after 22 minutes for a lead they never gave up.
