McKeown shines with hat-trick

Dundalk Colleges 3-16
Malahide CS 1-2
Leinster Colleges SFC 'A'

Dundalk Colleges were resounding winners over an understrength Malahide CS team at the Broomfields.

Missing their 2012 Dublin minors in Shane McGrath and Kevin O'Flynn, Malahide CS also went into this game without key players from the St Sylvester's Club, who have a big minor 'A' final later this month.

Dundalk's scorer-in-chief was Daniel McKeown and he was certainly the big thorn in Malahide's side in the first half.

His predatory instincts saw him register 3-3 in that opening half, the first of these coming on 10 minutes when picked out by a Ciaran Sheridan free.

McKeown added his second after a good run from corner-forward Ross Keogh on 18 minutes and then completed his hat-trick on 24 minutes.

Dundalk led 3-9 to 0-1 at the break and dominated the final quarter with subs Tadhg McEneaney and Adam Lynch both registering scores.
