North Leinster SFC 'A' final
A Stephen McGlynn free two minutes into injury-time secured victory for St Mary's, Edenderry in this hotly-contested decider.
The Offaly-based school held a three-point lead over Colm O'Rourke's charges at half-time, but they failed to add to their tally until the 51st minute, allowing St Pat's to recover courtesy of Padraig McGowan, Robert Keeleghan and Stephen Monaghan.
The sides were level at three points a piece after 20 minutes, but when Offaly minor star Ruairi McNamee was awarded a penalty, half-forward Mikie Clear slotted it away to open up a three-point lead.
McNamee and Keeleghan traded two points each in the closing stages with St Mary's holding a 1-5 to 0-5 half-time lead.
St Pat's were level eight minutes after the restart, but St Mary's regained the lead through a McGlynn free with nine minutes left.
The forward duo of Keeleghan and Sean Noonan were causing St Mary's serious problems, but it was a powerful run from half-back Shane Gallogy that got St Pat's back on level terms with seven minutes remaining.
And then Noonan swung the tie in St Pat's favour, but a McNamee-inspired St Mary's drew the sides level for the sixth time in the 60th minute.
A surging run from substitute Adam Mahon deep into injury-time resulted in a 14-yard free for St Mary's and it was McGlynn who pointed his third of the afternoon to secure victory for the 2012 Hogan Cup winners.
