McGivney captain fantastic

Cnoc Mhuire, Granard 1-16
Ashbourne CS 0-4
Leinster VS JF 'A' Final

Cnoc Mhuire were crowned champions following an emphatic 15-point victory against Ashbourne CS at Kells GAA grounds yesterday.

Ashbourne's title aspirations ended in the closing minutes of the first half when the Longford lads stormed into a five-point lead at the interval.

After the break, things gradually deteriorated for the Meath students, as the Granard side utilised the strong wind to its full potential.

David McGivney played a captain's role over the course of the contest, registering their first point on the fourth minute mark and also playing a part in the game's only goal three minutes before the interval, when his looping shot into the danger zone somehow fell to full-forward Aidan McElligott, who made no mistake.

Cnoc Mhuire's attentions now turn to an All-Ireland semi-final outing, which is down for decision this weekend.
