McGee rescues Longford

Waterford 0-10
Longford 1-7

Waterford remain unbeaten after four games but will see this second successive draw as a point lost after being held scoreless for the last 25 minutes at Fraher Field, Dungarvan, yesterday.

The visitors got off to a fine start when Francis McGee netted a penalty. But Waterford fought back to go in level at the break, 0-6 to 1-3, with Brian Wall in good form from placed balls.

Wayne Hennessy and Liam O'Lionnain put the hosts two points up early in the second half. McGee's free narrowed the deficit but this led to a scoreless period of 22 minutes.

Longford dominated but kicked a plethora of bad wides. Finally, with three minutes left, they equalised when McGee tapped over a close-range free.
