Down had an easy passage past Antrim in Newry to progress to the semi-finals last night.
An unanswered 1-4 in a 12-minute spell before half-time proved crucial for the winners. Ross McGarry and Donal O'Hare got Down goals either side of half-time, while senior Mourne panellist Conor Gough was sent off for two yellows 11 minutes from time.
Antrim were in front early on after a goal in the 16th minute from Hugh McNulty put them 1-2 to 0-3 ahead.
Down responded well, hitting 1-4 without reply, O'Hare scoring 0-3 in the first half.
Niall McParland was also impressive. He sent through the pass for McGarry to score the goal in the 26th minute as Down led 1-7 to 1-3 at half-time.
