Maghera power way to fifth title
St Patrick's Maghera 1-20 St Patrick's Navan 1-10
Maghera swept to a fifth Hogan Cup title with a classy display at Croke Park yesterday.
They raced into an early lead with points from James Kearney, Stephen O'Hara and Cathal Mulholland, and all but one of their points came from play as they turned around with a 0-10 to 0-5 interval lead.
Robert Keeleghan gave Navan a lifeline with a goal early in the second half, but the south Derry college hit back with a Danny Tallon goal.
Gerard Bradley, Neil McNicholl and O'Hara hit a combined total of 12 points as Maghera bridged a 10-year gap in style.
