Lilies eye Kerry Group deal
KILDARE County Board have admitted the potential for the county team's sponsorship by one of the country's largest companies has been "talked about".
Chairman John McMahon expressed confidence that a replacement sponsor for Tegral, who stepped down after 20 years, would be found quickly.
And Kerry Group, who already sponsor Kerry and have recently announced a massive expansion in Kildare with the creation of 900 jobs, are on their horizon.
"I've no doubt there are companies out there that will take an opportunity to sponsor a high-profile county who continually perform at the highest level," he told local radio station, KFM.
"It (Kerry Group) has certainly been talked about. They have made a great announcement for Kildare in the last week.
"We do know they sponsor our rivals in the Munster area, Kerry. There are probably more ways to skin the cat and that is an avenue that we will certainly be pursuing."
Tegral was the longest-running sponsorship in Gaelic football. Kildare's financial challenges are well documented and the sponsorship is being looked upon as a key element of their recovery.
