Leinster counties standing idly by

OTHER than hosting the four Divisional deciders in Croke Park this weekend, Leinster will have no involvement in the Allianz National Football League finals for a second successive year.
With the exception of Dublin who are unlucky not to be in the Division 1 final after finishing on the same number of points as Cork, none of the other counties could be remotely happy with their campaigns. Laois, Meath (Div 2), Wicklow and Carlow (Div 4) moved up one place in their groups but were outside the promotion slots. The biggest losers were Westmeath, down eight places on last year, Longford down seven, Kildare and Offaly down three each.
One might have thought that with no Leinster county in the League finals, some of their referees might be in business this weekend. Not so. Leinster draw a blank there too and instead the finals go to Donegal's Robert O'Donnell (Limerick v Waterford), Waterford's Maurice Condon (Sligo v Antrim), Galway's Gearoid O Conamha (Armagh v Down) and Armagh's Padraig Hughes (Cork v Mayo).
