Kenny stars in late Peter's fightback

St Peter's Wexford needed three points in the last three minutes to squeeze past 14-man St Brendan's Birr at Dicksboro on Saturday and book a semi-final spot.

Leading 0-7 to 0-6 at the break, St Peter's stretched their lead with a goal from a free by Andrew Kenny five minutes into the second half.

St Brendan's were reduced to 14 men two minutes later and although they fell five points down midway through the half, they fought back to lead by a point with four minutes left, the goal coming from a free by goalkeeper Keith Bergin.

However, St Peter's rallied and Andrew Kenny, who scored 1-9 in total, fired over three late points to secure the victory.
