It's a 'grand' old job for Jim

Published 12/11/2012 | 05:00

IF the report that Jim McGuinness is to get around €150,000 a year for three days' work per week with Glasgow Celtic is true, it will mean that he is getting paid even more than some expensive 'amateur' team managers in the GAA.

That figure works out not far from €1,000 a day, which is definitely a good bit more than the aforementioned county team managers, no matter how they are recompensed.

But then when we factor in another three days' working for Donegal for which, as an amateur, he gets no payment, sure the man will be nearly working for nothing.
