Holloway hero for Moate

Moate CS 2-12 Salesian Celbridge 0-6 LEINSTER COLLEGES SFC

Moate CS registered an emphatic win over Salesian Celbridge at Hogan Park yesterday.

First-half goals by John Maguire (from a penalty) and the excellent Patrick Holloway put Moate in a comfortable position at the interval -- by which stage they were leading 2-6 to 0-2.

Wing-back Holloway was fouled for the penalty which led to Maguire's goal and he then went on to score the second in the 20th minute -- after he was picked out by Lorcan Dolan's pass.

The Celbridge side were unable to eat into Moate's lead in the second half and the home side ran out comfortable winners.

Moate now advance to the quarter-finals of this competition and -- on the evidence of this display -- they will fancy their chances of making progress.
