Gibney effort steals the show
Cavan won through to the Ulster U-21 final after a typical neighbourly clash with Monaghan at Enniskillen.
The Cavan men raced into an eight-point lead after only 15 minutes, Conor McClarey scoring their goal.
But Monaghan refused to panic and fought back to lead by two points with 10 minutes to go, a David Miller goal giving them the lead for the first time.
At this stage there looked to be only one winner; Cavan had by then lost their centre-back, James McEnroe, to a second yellow card.
But the Breffni youngsters dug deep and hit three unanswered scores in a row.
Captain and senior panelist David Gibney swung over the winner with a massive effort from all of 55 metres in the first minute of injury-time.
They now meet Donegal in the decider which will be played at Brewster Park on Wednesday night.
