IN the midst of all the championship excitement, it's important to remember that life throws up many real -- as opposed to sporting -- challenges to people who are left with no choice but to take them on.
Ollie Burke, a footballer with the Milltown GAA club in Galway, had his life changed forever in 2007 when he fell from a ladder. He suffered a brain injury which left him in hospital for nearly two years. He is now back with his family where he needs 24-hour care.
The Milltown club are organising a 10K 'Run for Ollie' fund-raising event on Saturday, June 19, and are hoping for big support for a worthy cause. Details on: www.friendsofollie.com
