Experimental Mayo team named for FBD game with NUIG

Mayo re-start their season tonight with just one player - goalkeeper Robert Hennelly - from last year's All-Ireland final.

James Horan has named an experimental side having just returned from a team holiday in Dubai on Wednesday.

Mayo open their 2014 season with a home game against N.U.I.G. in the FBD Connacht Senior Football League this Friday night at 7pm in Elverys MacHale Park.

Horan will give senior team debuts to a number of players for this game, though there is experience on the bench with the likes of Colm Boyle, Lee Keegan, Andy Moran and Enda Varley being held in reserve

Mayo team to play N.U.I.G:  Robert Hennelly (captain), Keith Rogers, Kevin Keane, Eoghan Reilly; Brendan Harrison, Shane McHale, David Drake; Jason Gibbons , John Reilly; Adam Gallagher , Cathal Freeman, Diarmuid O'Connor; Tom King , Darren Coen , Mickey Sweeney – Kiltane.

Replacements: Colm Boyle, Stephen Coen, Brian Gallagher, Cathal Carolan, Michael Conroy, Sean Kelly, Alan Freeman, Jason Doherty, Enda Varley, Andy Moran, Lee Keegan.
