Dubs' sponsors must step up
AS the fear of remaining ticketless for next week's All-Ireland final turns to panic, the Dublin County Board will be under ridiculous pressure.
But it's not their only headache given their recent revelations about the potential €2m cost of having five county teams competing at the business end of the championships.
As the U-21 hurlers bid to make amends for the minors against Galway in Thurles tomorrow night, one organisation that is certainly happy at this point is Dublin's sponsor Vodafone, whose brand is being paraded on television to the final minute of the season.
And, generous as the deal was, I hope that a multi-billion euro operation like Vodafone pushes the boat out in return for what has been a remarkable achievement in getting four teams to All-Ireland finals, win or lose.
Dublin have stepped up to the mark this season -- let's hope Vodafone are prepared to do the same.
