A point in the 62nd minute from Stephen Farrell earned hosts Scoil Aireagail a draw in Ballyhale, but that wasn't enough to prolong their involvement in the competition as Abbey CC, Ferrybank advanced.

Abbey looked like stealing a win when Sean Duggan pointed them in front in injury-time. Farrell had the final say, but Abbey still went through to the semis.

Abbey established an early 0-6 to 0-3 lead but a goal by the excellent Conor Walsh helped Scoil Aireagail to a 1-6 to 0-8 advantage at the break.

Abbey snatched a goal through Ian Ahearne in the 33rd minute and at one stage they led by 1-10 to 1-7. Another Walsh goal levelled it and it was nip and tuck from there to the finish.
