Roscommon put themselves back into the promotion mix yesterday at Dr Hyde Park.
The four-point margin of victory scarcely reflected the one-sidedness of the contest as the home side shot 12 wides, hit the crossbar twice and had a goal ruled out for square ball.
It looked like the Rossies might pay for their profligacy when Antrim were awarded a penalty with 12 minutes to go and five points separating the sides. However, Geoffrey Claffey saved Paddy Cunningham's spot-kick.
It had all started so promisingly for the visitors when Michael Magill found the net after only 50 seconds.
But the Rossies took over from there, hitting the front when Conor Devaney found the net on 11 minutes.
By half-time they led by 1-7 to 1-3 and stayed in command after the break.
