Last sporting event you paid into:

A Leinster rugby match, one of the Pro12 games. I live in Sandymount, so Leinster are on my doorstep.

Sporting event you'd pay any

money to see:

One of athletics' big 100m finals. I'd love to see just how fast Usain Bolt actually is!

Musical taste:

I'm not that into music. I'd have more a taste for traditional music, unlike the lads on the team, who seem to need a fella with a pair of earphones and some discs.

Reading taste:

I don't read a lot of books, but I like sporting biographies like Lance Armstrong's or 'Fallen Angel' (the biography of Italian cycling legend Fausto Coppi) – ones that get into the nitty-gritty.

Do you play golf?

I did but I just couldn't get me head around it! I got down to a 14 handicap and was happy enough but I decided I had other things physically I still wanted to do. I can play golf when I'm old.

Three people you'd like to

invite to dinner:

You'd need a bit of variety and craic so Brian O'Driscoll, Sharon Ni Bheolain (pictured) – her little girl is on my U-10 team and that fella (Felix Baumgartner) who did that sky-dive from outer space. I'd love to know what he was thinking just as he stepped out!
