Connolly, Macauley back to lift Dubs for derby clash
DIARMUID Connolly and Michael Darragh Macauley return to Dublin's starting line-up for tomorrow's big NFL Division 1 top-of-the-table clash with Kildare in Croke Park.
Full-forward Connolly was expected back from injury last week but was replaced before throw-in by underage star Ciaran Kilkenny. The young Castleknock man will start again but this time at centre-forward, in place of the injured Tomas Brady.
But Connolly's return and the form of Bernard Brogan and Paddy Andrews gives the Dubs a lethal-looking strikeforce against their big Leinster rivals.
Macauley returns from suspension to resume his leading role in midfield – that sees Cian O'Sullivan return to his defensive roots, at centre-back in place of the suspended Ger Brennan.
Shane Supple (above) starts in goals in place of regular goalkeeper and team captain Stephen Cluxton. Dublin did not name a stand-in skipper last night.
