Clare pick injury-hit collins

Clare's Sean Collins was named at centre-forward last night, but remains an injury doubt for tomorrow's Munster SHC semi-final and there is speculation that his younger brother Paudge could yet be among their starters, WRITES CLIONA FOLEY.

James McInerney returns at centre-back, after missing the league semi-final with a broken hand, at the expense of Liam Markham and their only other change is Jonathan Clancy replacing Fergal Lynch at wing-forward.

Donegal star Michael Murphy could play some part in today's Ulster SFC quarter-final against Derry in Ballybofey (5.0), even though he has not played any competitive football since suffering a medial ligament knee injury three months ago.

Manager Jim McGuinness won't confirm his team until just before throw-in, but he said that both Murphy and ankle-injury victim Rory Kavanagh are "back in the picture."

Carlow have named Brendan Murphy in their team to play Meath in the Leinster SFC quarter-final replay in Tullamore this evening, but he will undergo a fitness test after suffering concussion in last Sunday's draw.

His brother Brian, who was also injured last week, has been included.

With Daniel St Ledger (injured) and Paul Reid (suspended) ruled out, Clonmore's Con Murphy and Tinryland's Cormac Walshe will make their championship debuts.
