Cassidy earns replay after thriller

THE teams must do it all over against next Friday after a thrilling MacRory Cup semi-final ended in a draw.

St Patrick's led 0-8 to 1-3 at the break, with Gerard Bradley, Stephen O'Hara and Danny Tallon among their point scorers.

St Colman's had briefly led during the first period thanks to a well-taken 19th-minute goal from centre-forward Dara Noonan.

The second half was a very lively affair as play swung from end to end.

After Noonan had levelled matters, Kealan Rice put St Colman's in front with a great score from out on the left wing.

Maghera lifted their game, though, and points from O'Hara, Cormac O'Doherty, Bradley and substitute Neil McNicholl established a 0-13 to 1-7 lead with only 10 minutes remaining.

Rice put St Colman's ahead with a well-taken point late on, but Peter Cassidy weighed in with a terrific equaliser from the right wing for St Patrick's.
