Ballinderry trainer Joe Canavan has vacated his position ahead of Sunday's Ulster Club Football Championship game against his home club Errigal Ciaran.
Canavan's move is a mirror image of the decision of Errigal Ciaran boss Ronan McGuckin to step down, unwilling to manage a team against his own club. The departures have overshadowed the build-up to what is undoubtedly the tie of the round, with Tyrone champions Errigal taking on the Derry kingpins at Healy Park.
Canavan, a brother of Tyrone legend Peter, has two nephews on the Errigal team, while McGuckin has cousins playing for Ballinderry.
